Nechako Valley has a provincial team player and has beaten both college hieghts and dp todd this year

is southridge deserving of a top 15 ranking? What are some notable teams they have beat this year?

really confussed... where is PA

NVSS is probably better then College Heights... but neither team deserves hm... DPTodd is a better team then nvss (i think they're 3-1 against them)... and yes, they DO have a provincial team player... however he was a U-15 provincial team player... and wasn't one of the more prominent players on that team... to sum up... NVSS deserves NO love... they'll be borederline top 15 next year though... and very solid in 2 years

At 10:11 PM, February 05, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

why should pacific academy be top 15 or even honourable mention

At 10:58 PM, February 05, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I think that Westsyde could surprise people this year.

At 11:00 AM, February 06, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Rupert should be a top 3 team. They will come and surprise some people at the Bc's. I believe they are better than Fulton, and beat some good AA schools in the Police Tourney in Vic, as well as losing to Oak Bay a top 10 AAA team in overtime by one point. But I guess all of this is subjective!!

At 12:24 AM, February 07, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

They are definetly better than Fulton.

At 2:30 PM, February 07, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

could somebody PLEASE post full results (or as near to full as they can) from the police tournament

At 2:39 PM, February 07, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

In the police tourney, Prince Rupert beat Carson Graham easily, SMU by 20, and Mt Doug, and lost to Oak Bay by 1 pt in overtime.

At 12:08 AM, February 08, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

First of all..... Why would Prince Rupert care abotu how high they are ranked. They are gonnamake it in the highest seed they can no matter what they are ranked and can do just as good as they were gonna even if they are ranked 1st or 10th
NO BODY SHOULD CARE

At 8:30 AM, February 08, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Well making the BC's is one thing, but having a ranking in the top 3 will reflect the draw they receive. That is the only value of the rankings. This makes sure that they don't allow some cinderella team to all of sudden get a great draw because they knock off some team that was suppose to make it far in the BC's.

At 9:06 PM, February 08, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I heard the Hope team only has one solid player in their big guy Williams.. If thats the case why are they still ranked in the top 10??

At 9:48 PM, February 08, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

SOOOO TRUEEEE, any one who has any brains could see this, the rest of the teams isnt terrible, but they cant beat you, eric is the only guy who can beat you, the other guys will hit some shots, k they lost to friking mountain when eric wasnt there.... enough said!

At 9:59 PM, February 08, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Ehhh BC Sports Fanatic.... Just wonderin why in the bc highschool basketball rankings u have evry team the same as them in different order except that team from vernon whats up with them any info they good?

At 10:59 AM, February 09, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Vernon is brutal there is no way they should be hm they lost to DW POPPY!(by 20 points)once the ranking cahnge they will be gone and probly wont hear anything from them for the rest of the year

At 3:29 PM, February 09, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

hope is still in the top 10 because we earned it, we have way more than eric williams seeing as how he only scores 20 - 30 points which although is a large number its still not enough to beat anyone, which is where the rest of the team comes in and scores just as much as eric. just wait and see

At 4:07 PM, February 09, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

LOLOLOLOL, he scores like 60% of your points.......

At 4:18 PM, February 09, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

you guys aren't SHI T without Eric... you haven't earned anything without Eric in your lineup.... then again you haven't earned anything WITH him in your lineup either... you'd be a very good "A" team... as a "AA" team your MAYBE top 10 in the prov... and that's only due to a lack of depth at that level, i guarantee that you'd lose to:
Duchess
Ladysmith
STM
Fulton
Prince Rupert, all by 20+, Eric is VERY good... but as a team, i've seen you, you blow

At 5:28 PM, February 09, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

AMEN BROTHER!

At 6:01 PM, February 09, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

yo dis be so true, dey is not plop wivout da eric williams, so isun to dat, fa reals

At 6:18 PM, February 09, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

the only team Hope has beat is Pac Academy! and who even considers them a ranked team?! unless Eric lights it up for 40+ points they are in for a short run at provincials no question a bout it

At 7:02 PM, February 09, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

look at Prince Rupert..their even farther than Hope from anywhere else. Only games are against Charles Hays who gives them no compititon

At 7:03 PM, February 09, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

yah maybe we've only beat pac academy. but let me ask you this. WHo else would we have had a chance to play? We live in Hope for Christ sakes. Nobody has seen us play any of the top 10 and most of the people on here are scrubs who play for shitty teams and don't know jack shit about basketball (especially that mission guy.) so just wait and see what happens. Oh and by the way Eric doesn't score 60% of our points unless we average about 40 points. So good try but completely wrong. We have three guys currently averaging 15 points a game not including eric.

At 7:43 PM, February 09, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

so he only scores about half of their points, big deal... he is still your only player worth talking about.

At 11:25 PM, February 09, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

you had a chance to play DPTodd (HM) without Eric and prove how good your other starters are... that turned out well...

At 12:00 PM, February 10, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

yah it was pretty good we were down 1 by the end of the third quarter and they were on fire in the fourth shit happens. All i'm saying is don't judge us until we have a chance to play some top tier teams. If we lose we lose just give us a chance before you say we suck.

At 1:07 PM, February 10, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

This is in regards to the Hope player who is doing a crazy job of defending himself and his team

You say that you live in Hope and no one has a chance to see you play, last time I checked Hope is not far (under 3 hours away) from some very competive Fraser Valley AAA teams, Brookswood, MEI, Pitt Meadows, Enver Creek & Maple Ridge just to name a few. Quit playing the we live too far away card. Prince Rupert lives seven hours from their nearest competion, I don't hear them complaining.

You say that you have "four players that can drop 30" and three players other then Eric are averaging 15+, but it just so happens when he goes down you preform pretty poorly (DP Todd Northern Classic)

Try taking a page out of Duchess Park's book, when there best player went down (Nathan Yu) they won tournaments. (Maroons Classic)

Quit complaining that top teams haven't seen you play, You guys enter weak tournaments like the Snoball, and invite weak teams like Heritage Park, Mission & Unity Christian when you host your own.

At 1:33 PM, February 10, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

hopes not great, but their not bad either. They need to work hard in order to beat good teams. Everyone needs to contribute

At 1:34 PM, February 10, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

yah, they could beat some good teams with some work

At 6:25 PM, February 10, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I watched the D.P.Todd Vs. Hope Game. They weren't down by 1 at the end of the third. At the end of half it was close(around 10 point game) and the second half D.P.Todd pulled away. Also, they weren't on fire in the fourth. I'll give Hope credit of having a decent player(big guy i think he was number 10) and thats about it. D.P.Todd isn't even that good and u guys got murdered. Also, I watched some of your other games at that tournament. Trust me you guys are just an average team.

At 6:25 PM, February 10, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

no way.. im gonna have to agree with with the guy a couple up. Hope isn't way out and away from the top fraser valley teams. head down and play brookswood or something. And if you say your team is solid with out Eric then you sure didnt prove it in Prince George.. Lose bad to DP Todd, barely get by Charles Hays then lose to SMitthers. Doesnt sound like a 7th ranked team in AA

At 7:15 PM, February 10, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

okay, i feel very bad for some hope players. they are an OKAY team with one VERY GOOD player. everybody on here hates on them though, but they bring it upon themselves, they should just shut up and let results speak for themselves, if they think they can show us something at provs, then good luck to them, they really should shut up though (they remind me of the Sahali kids at the beginning of the year on hooplife) when you are on a mediocre team... SHUTUP... u'll get your love if you deserve it, if not... just go work on your game and try to prove haters wrong, i do feel very bad for the hope program and players that just go out and play as this is probably the best team they've had in quite a while and will have in quite a while and it doesn't need to be marred by getting hated on... out

At 11:37 PM, February 10, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I agree, Sa-hali has actually done better than expected though. They play Westsyde tomorrow in the Okanagan West Zone Finals. The winner probably goes into the Okanagan Championships as the second seed. It's ridiculous that Summerland is HM and Sa-Hali is NR.

At 11:40 PM, February 10, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

And umm the people that were saying Sa hail would be good wasnt even the Sr team it was the kids on the Jr team just to let you know

At 12:22 PM, February 11, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Is it true that the island only gets 2 births? I also heard that the howe sound is getting 2 births. If so the provincials will be missing at least 3 top ten teams.

At 1:49 PM, February 11, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

ladysmith and cedar should make it off the island siggi is solid but lambrick and smu will be tough games for them

At 1:56 PM, February 11, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Hope has a couple good three point shooters and two guys who are great slashers who can shoot and dish out when necessary. their point guard is really erratic though and makes tons of brutal turnovers. Eric is definitely the glue that holds the team together but when this team is on their game (they can get off their game plan easily) they could be dangerous.

At 2:08 PM, February 11, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

these are probubly the most accurate rankings we have seen all season.

At 2:22 PM, February 11, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

how can you say they are accurate when duchess park isn't #1 and SMU is in the top 10?

At 7:59 PM, February 11, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

i thought SMU was a pretty good team? didnt they beat some decent triple a schools??

At 12:46 AM, February 12, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Update this - VSS beat Fulton in Vernon sooo much for rankings

At 1:26 AM, February 12, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Vss beat Fulton!!!was this the zone finals! well on the other hand sa hali beat westyde in there zone finals they will be the second seed in the okanogan i expected fulton to be first?

At 12:26 PM, February 12, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Fulton lost to VSS?!! What was the score?! What does this mean for Fulton?

At 5:38 PM, February 12, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

SMU lost to PRSS and that game was bad to watch. PRSS guys were laughing and screwing around and still won by 15-20 points. So much for them being a good team.

At 8:35 PM, February 12, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

If Fulton lost to VSS they can't give them the #1 seed can they? Fulton is good when they are at their best but they have been overrated all year.

At 9:28 PM, February 12, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

..........................fulton..........lost...to VSS?? wtf?? what is going on...?? did jesse brown die? did levi brodland break both his legs?.........DETAILS NOW

At 7:35 PM, February 13, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

It must be true, VSS is in the HM and Fulton dropped to 8th in the rankings!

At 7:36 PM, February 13, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

AA rankings as of Feb 12, 2006:
1. Ladysmith 49ers
2. Duchess Park Condors
3. St. Thomas More Knights
4. Prince Rupert Rainmakers
5. Cedar Spartans
6. Gulf Islands Scorpions
7. Lambrick Park Lions
8. Clarence Fulton Maroons
9. Hope Mustangs
10. Sa-Hali Sabres
HM: Collingwood Cavaliers, D.P. Todd Trojans, Vernon Panthers, Pacific Academy Breakers, LV Rogers Bombers

At 8:34 PM, February 13, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

What more could Duchess Park do to actually be ranked #1?! They have been the clear 1 seed all season in my mind. it's getting ridiculous.

At 10:22 PM, February 13, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Duchess is the true #1

At 10:31 PM, February 13, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

If provincials started today these would be the matchups.....

#1 Ladysmith vs #16 _________

#8 Fulton vs #9 Hope

#5 Cedar vs #12 DP Todd

#4 Prince Rupert vs #13 Vernon

#6 Gulf Islands vs #11 Collingwood

#3 St. Thomas More vs # 14 Pacific Academy

#7 Lambrick Park vs # 10 Sahali

#2 Duchess Park vs # 15 LV Rodgers

Now don't jump down my throat I know that the person who does the seedings for provincials is different to the person who does Basketball BC's Rankings, and alot of these matchups wouldn't work since the number of births is different, but just a general look at what the provincial picture is like.....

At 11:59 AM, February 15, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

don't underestimate the Gulf Island team, they have a very nice PG. They beat Lambrick in the final with out too muuch drama. They avenged there earlier loss to SMU in the semi final as well.

At 12:02 PM, February 15, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

SMU's #14 just sucked against Gulf Islands and then hit 6 threes against Shawnigan the next day. They seem to live and die with his shooting. Their big guy inside could hurt you if you don't muscle up on him.

At 9:21 PM, February 15, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

i relaly hope duchess loses the provincials, either losing early, or getting blown out by ladysmith in the finals, just because everybody is always hyping up duchess, plus isn't duchess only a one man team anyway? that nathan yu kid. i've never personally seen them play

At 9:43 PM, February 15, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

???
obviously you arn't reading this hype properly.

Duchess has won tournaments WITHOUT Nathan Yu, not just games, but TOURNAMENTS. So you're pretty much a dumbfack for saying that. way to make urself look stupid.

At 5:20 PM, February 16, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

ya, duchess won the maroons classic w/o nathan yu, they beat some top competition in fulton and sa-hali among others, paul burkholder, there asian point: a short dude, and one of there posts are pretty good, then you add nathan yu in there, damn, and also despite the official rankings, duchess is #1 in province def.

At 10:54 PM, February 16, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Duchess is so good because they will always have someone who will have played a good game. But the thing is they tend to live and die by the three. I'm not saying that's all they do because they have decent posts but if there threes aren't falling they are not the number one team in the province. So far this year, they haven't had a problem with that but it'll be interesting to see if they can keep this up at provincials. If there threes don't fall, they will be better than most but they won't be better than the top AA teams.

At 10:57 PM, February 16, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I'm excited to see Duchess play at provincials. They are the clear favorite and none of their guys have ever gone to AA provincials. So it'll be interesting to see how they handle the pressure.(Could be another Argyle upset)

At 2:31 AM, February 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

When we played them it was their fast break and their incredible athleticism that I thought was their best point. Their three point shooting is good, but I don't think that they live and die by the three, they are solid all the way around and if their shots aren't falling I think that they will still find a way to win by using one of their other strengths.

At 2:34 AM, February 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Does anyone know if basketball BC will change the rankings one more time before provincials? I know that the rankings don't necessarily decide the seeding, but it would be interesting to know where teams are ranked before the tournament.

At 1:16 PM, February 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Wow! The guy who does the rankings is from the okanagan and he still can't get it right? Fulton, Sahali, and Westsyde have been the top three teams all year and will be the three teams in the provincials! Fulton lost to vernon shooting 25 for 74. Their two studs were both very sick. Now sahali and Fulton play in the valley semi finals. Westsyde plays Vernon. Westsdye beat Summerland easily (20 points I think) they also beat DP todd by 30 this year. Why are Summerland and DP todd in the rankings??

At 3:37 PM, February 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Apparently Fulton only beat Princess Margaret (a weak team) by about 3 or 5 points or something. If they continue to play this way I can't see them even making provincials. Actually Westsyde only won by about 14 I think but the lead was over 20 at one point and Summerland hit some three balls on Westsyde's substitutes in the last couple minutes. Vernon looks like a strong team, they beat Valleyview easily. I expect Sa-hali to dominate Fulton tonight (Unless Fulton comes out of their slump) but the WSS/VSS game could be a close one. Those three Okanagan births are completely up in the air at this point.

At 3:50 PM, February 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Does anyone know how they are going to place the teams in the draw. Are they going to do it by rankings?
or are will they take the winners from each zone and rank them first?
Berthing formula has to be looked at I think. Not gonna have the true 16 best teams when 2 or 3 of top ten won't make it out of their zone.

At 3:57 PM, February 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Duchess is way overated, and just like every other team they are capable of having terrible games... I like Ladysmith, STM and Rupert over them. Duchess is all hype and can't compete with the top teams AA, watch them go down in flames at provincials

At 4:10 PM, February 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

just out of curiosity why do you say they're over rated, your entitled to your own oppinion that's the whole point of this board, they appear good to me, but i've never seen ladymsith, stm, or rupert, so they all might be better though, when have you seen them play though and why do you think they are over rated?

At 4:12 PM, February 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Dutchess can't compete with the top AA teams, huh!!
Maybe that is because they are busy beating AAA teams on a regular basis.

At 11:09 PM, February 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Sa Hali 71 Fulton 63
Westsyde beats Vernon by 4.

So Westsyde-Sa Hali final, with VSS and Fulton duking it out for the final berth.

Man Fulton is slumping.

At 11:53 PM, February 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Fulton isnt as good as everyone thought they probably shouldnt have lost to vernon but the lose to Sa Hali tonigt was legit they just let jesse and levi get theirs and no one else did anything

At 12:44 AM, February 18, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

What kind of seeding do you think the Okanagan champ will get?

At 12:49 AM, February 18, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

If Fulton doesn't make it out of the Okanagan that will be a huge upset. To make it they will have to beat Summerland and Vernon tomorrow (Summerland gets a backdoor challenge). Honestly I think that there is a 50/50 chance that they blow it against one of those teams. If they make it they will be the #3 team from Okanagans and that should give them a crappy seeding even though they have been ranked top ten all year. Sa-hali deserves to be in the final, they were a lot better than Fulton tonight, Westsyde on the other hand... we will have to see about that tomorrow.

At 2:02 PM, February 18, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Isn't shawnigan lake doing badly this year? I thought they would be doing well having michael berg right???? or does he not play? did he not make the provincial team? or what

Pacific Academy Beat hope in OT
Both advance since Hope already beat sands in the tourny

Duchess & DP Todd are going to provincials from the north central

so who do we have at prov's so far? dp todd, duchess, hope, pacific academy, fulton, westsyde, sa-hali, STM, britannia...thats 9 teams? still need 7 more

At 9:01 AM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Prince Rupert, 2 crap teams from the kootenays, 2 teams from the north shore (collingwood and somebody else), Lower mainland and fraser valley have another berth

At 9:03 AM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

So westsyde lost by two in overtime. they beat Summerland handily and beat Vernon. Any love yet??? They should have been ranked all year!

mcmath probably have the other lower mainland berth

At 11:17 AM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

does anybody know exactly how many provincial berths each region gets?

At 11:58 AM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

the fraser valleys, should get 3 berths..
is there any chance of that happenin at the seeding meeting?

At 12:08 PM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

if southridge is 15? sands just dominated them?as i saw
i think there atleast an HM team going into next year, as they will be great in the frasers

At 1:21 PM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Summerland shouldnt of been ranked all year they were terriable. What suprised me the most was that they lost preety much every game. What happen to VSS they lost to Princess Margaret and they were favorites to be fighting for the 3rd seed anyone want to explain what happen there?

Let the Fraser Valley have 3 spots to Provincials. I really want Sands to go after watching them play and dominating every team they played, except Hope. They deserve it

VSS pretty much lives and dies by that redhead kid, he had a good game in the first round when they won, but he gets into foul trouble in the 2nd game only had 11 and they lost then they lost to princess margaret, who had a pretty good tourney, but i dunno how redhead from VSS did against them

Lambrick Just ended Cedar and SMU season. They are playign Gulf Islands on tuesday to determine the 2nd berth of the island. Ladysmith is already locked up a spot. Should be a good game

o i forgot MacMath are they the other lower mainland birth?

At 4:21 PM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

probably, unless they lost to the team that STM beat in the semis

At 4:24 PM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

the top seedings will go something like this, but i dont know the order

Duchess Park
STM
Pac Academy
Sa Hali
Ladysmith?
Sutherland/Collingwood (who was the winner?)

At 4:25 PM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I dont think Fulton deserves to be going to provs they had a very poor showing in the valleys, behind Levi and Jesse there team is nothing and will fall fast in provicials. They only beat princess margaret in the first round by 5 points and they weren't even ranked anytime all year.

At 4:28 PM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

your missing 2 teams from the kooteneys, i predict the rankings will be close to

Duchess Park
Ladysmith
STM
Prince Rupert
Lambrick/Gulf Islands
Sahali
Collingwood
Pacific Academy
Westsyde
L.V Rogers
Fulton
Hope
DPTodd
Brittania
Howe Sound#2(sutherland?)
Kooteney#2 (Fernie?)

just off the top of my head though

At 4:34 PM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

those rankings have STM playing Brit again in the 1st round

At 4:44 PM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

The rankings should stay the same from all season,

#1 Ladysmith (Held this postion all year long)
#2 Duchess (Beat good teams but too much hype)
#3 STM (Heard nothing from them but two team bc players)
#4 Prince Rupert (Challenging and no one knows anything about them)

is there any chance of 3 berts outta the fraser valleY?did anythin go down at the seeding meetin which would turn this out?

sands really deserves to go

At 6:17 PM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Princess Margaret was not ranked anytime during the year is true but i never even heard of them or seen them in any big tournement but they had some weird zone that contained Jesse and Levi to some extent. They were probally the most suprising team of the tournement beacuse i had not seen them play before and they almost upset Fulton but they did upset VSS by like 10 points i think.

Lambrick Park is challenging the Gulf Islands. Gulf Islands got second at islands. There really should be three berths given to the islands.

At 9:16 PM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

yeah, there really should be 3 berths from the island. it would then preferably be ladysmith, lambrick/gulf islands, and cedar

At 9:20 PM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Why Cedar-they got like 5/6 in Island. Rather than the challenge game Lambrick should just be in.

At 9:21 PM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

acctually if there was three then cedar still wouldnt have made it it would be ladysmith gulf islands and lambrick

At 10:20 PM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

The rankings must be bad if the team that is ranked 5th in the province isn't even close to making the tournament.

I think if anyone deserves another berth it is the Island not FValley.

At 10:22 PM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

When do you think that the official seedings for the tournament should be out?

At 10:31 PM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

they should have 2.5 from the isalnd and 2.5 from fraers threfore the 3 teams could play a challenge game agaisnt eachother and winner advances, even if its a far distance of travel to play it should be done casue i bet both teams would be willin to do it,
i hope they do that

At 11:03 PM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

definiltly won't happen this year, maybe next year

sorry sands:(

At 12:18 AM, February 20, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

How come I have never heard of Britannia? If they narrowly lost to STM does that mean they will be good? Is Sands actually good or are you being sarcastic? Didn't they finish like 3-5 in league?

At 2:16 AM, February 20, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Two things:
1. Berths are given based on how many teams are in the area of the zone, they are not based on the talent of the zone.

2. The tournament should look something like this.
*depending on whether or not there are any challenge games left to be played.

1. Ladysmith (Island #1)
16. D.P. Todd (North Central #2)

8. Collingwood (Howe Sound #1)
9. Westsyde (Okanagan #2)

5. Sahali (Okanagan #1)
12. L.V. Rogers (Kootenay #1)

4. Prince Rupert (North West #1)
13. Hope (Fraser Valley #2)

3. St. Thomas More (Lower Mainland #1)
14. Sutherland (Howe Sound #2)

6. Gulf Islands/Lambrick (Island #2)
11. Fulton (Okanagan #3)

7. Pacific Academy (Fraser Valley #1)
10. Britannia (Lower Mainland #2)

2. Duchess Park (North Central #1)
15. Fernie (Kootenay #2)

*These matchups and teams are not official.
-This draw was composed by using Basketball BC rankings and the results from the various zone playdowns.
-Some teams dropped rankings because they lost in their respective league finals. (I.E. Hope losing to Pacific Academy and Fulton placing 3rd in the Okanagan.)
-As well, the draw is set up so that teams from the same zone will not play each other in the 1st round and will preferably be placed on opposite sides of the tournament.
-Hopefully this will shed some light on how a provincial tournament is laid out and give everyone something to be excited about.

At 7:28 AM, February 20, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

sands was 3-5 in league, but reached its game after a slow start due to football as they completly dominated after that as they probally could have won the frasers if not for the bad 2nd half agaisnt hope, i belive they were the best team in that tourny along with p.a
next year though, goodluck to provicnal teams

who do you guys think is gonna win it all??? I personally have seen both Ladysmith and Duchess Park play i think that would be an amazing final duchess would probably take it they are deeper then ladysmith Spencer Fife never really seemed that good when i saw him i think if he brings some offence to the table it will be a tight game....Prince Rupert and STM have an outside chance of winning it all as well in my opinion

At 4:35 PM, February 20, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

STM is not at the same level as rupert, Ladysmith, and Duchess

At 4:47 PM, February 20, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

ya i wasnt sure i just heard they were pritty good dont they have two or three provincial players?

At 4:59 PM, February 20, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

i've seen both ladysmith and duchess, fyfe isn't that good, i think duchess is deeper, it would be quite a good game and very close, but duchess would win. Duchess has done well w/o nathan yu, they won the fulton classic tourney, then w/ him, they will run through teams on the way to the provincial title.

At 7:21 PM, February 20, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

you can start building your provincial "predictions" of how the draw will be made up w/ this solid FACT, straight from our coach, us, Sa-Hali know that we are playing Hope first round of BC AA provincials.

At 8:11 PM, February 20, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Accurate Draw - Not sure of 12, 13, 14 just guessed...But accurate everywhere else

1. Ladysmith
16.DP Todd

8. Westsyde
9. LV Rogers

4. Prince Rupert
13.**Sutherland**

5. Gulf Islands/Lambrick Winner
12.**Collingwood**

3. STM
14.**Brittania**

6. Sahali
11.Hope

7. Pac Academy
10.Fulton

2. Duchess Park
15.Fernie

Should make for an interesting tourney. Can Sahali make it to the semi? Feel bad for Pac Academy.

Ladysmith - Other Island team semi
Duchess - Winner of Sahali/Hope

Thoughts??

At 9:46 PM, February 20, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Can Sahali make it to the semi's!!!!!!!!! Are you sniffing glue.

At 9:56 PM, February 20, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

i think actually it's....

4.Prince Rupert
13.Fernie

3.STM
14.Sutherland

2.Duchess
15.Brittania

This is accurate.

At 10:01 PM, February 20, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

My bad...Wasn't too sure about 12-15...No need to get harsh about the Sahali comment...Not too sure how good Hope and STM are? If anyone knows let me know. Who are in the final four? Or are they going to go according to the rankings?

At 11:22 PM, February 20, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I think the final four will consist of #'s 1 to 4. I think the top 2 are kinda in a class above everyone else, then PR and STM just below them, then I think 5 to 12 could beat up on eachother on any given day.
How strong is LV Rogers? Is that a reasonable placing with them in at #9 (even so being a #1 from Kootneys)
I think the PA/Fulton and Sahali/Hope will be the big games in round 1

At 7:53 AM, February 21, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

i've seen LVRogers, their a fairly weak team and shuold have been ranked much lower, i fully expect Fulton to beat PA handily as i expect Sahali to beat hope, look out for sahali to be a dork horse, i predict they COULD make it as far as the semis

At 3:51 PM, February 21, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

We played Sahali earlier in the season and don't get me wrong I think they have a strong team, and will be a contender next year, but this year Prince Rupert is much better

Sahali is hated on because you guys always pump your team up too much. Then your coach cries to the paper about the Okanagan draw being unfair! So yes you are right everyone hates Sahali!

cuz the vernon coach didn't want his team to meet fulton in the semi cuz he wanted one of there teams to have a chance at gettin 1st and fulton gettin second, so yes we were getting screwed on that draw as was westsyde and everyone else, and no we don't pump our team up, that would be our juniors, no one on our senior has said anything about our team

At 2:18 PM, February 22, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

are you kidding me, fulton ain't good, they'll get owned in provs

At 3:39 PM, February 22, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Yeah, i agree. Princess Margaret is a solid team, but they arn't provincial strengh. And if Fulton just about lost to them, then there's no way they'll make if pretty far.

At 3:42 PM, February 22, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Princess Margaret (Penticton) will for sure be a strong team next year. They just about had a made upset at the valleys and next year most of the players on other teams in the OK valley will graduate. Princess Margret has a solid bunch of gr.11s going into 12 next year and with a sold bunch of juniors commin up, they'll give a lot of teams problems. They will most likely make it to the provs next year.

nice attempt, but that list is horrible, Paul Burkholder is like the 5th best player on his own team, Karol Cyubula will be good when he gets stronger, right now he's too weak, cam spurr isn't that great either, neither player from Westsyde is that great....
Spencer Fyfe, Levi Brodland, and a few others are all better candidates to receive an all-star than many players mentioned

for next years rankings? why are people saying sands should be ranked in the top 10?
is it fair that they should be?

if they prove themselves maybe, otherwise no

At 4:36 PM, February 22, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

actuaally they shoudl be ranked maybe as a HM, i think they will win the FV with ease, in the matter that they will defeat teams by alot, im saying this cause i played against them and i watched them, and they are an excellent team, i think it just took the time to click, as earlier in the year, we defeated them both times very easily, by 20ish and the last game, there was just something about them, that in the first quater, i felt like we were gonna loose(southridge player) and that they were just dominating us mentally
there a good team
i hope the gr.11's on our team randip have a good season they have a chance at second next year because sands will walk away with the FV and by the end of the year be in the top 5 for provicnals

Ladysmith = overrated and not as good as Duchess Park

At 7:34 PM, February 22, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Nathan Yu is way over rated, 2 years ago in the zones in Williams Lake, columneetza beat them by i think it was 10, and yea he is good, but when u get in his head he cant hit anything, if u chant his name he will miss his first 10 shots guarenteed, we chanted his name the hole game, it was so crazy, he was so nervous. and columneetza is crazy this year but in tripple A, watch out underdog commin here, kelly road has got nothin on them!

At 7:38 PM, February 22, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

hey man, u think columneetza is the worst, now tell me what school are u playing for? assuming u are playing for a school.

At 8:06 PM, February 22, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

haha, ur right columneetza did beat duchess in jr. zones 2 yrs ago, once, by about 2, and nate did have a bad game, but then they played again in the finals and duchess came back and beat them by like 30+ to advance to provs, and this year, kelly raod has beaten columneetza numerous times, as have duchess

At 8:16 PM, February 22, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

dimitri harris from brit will get at least an HM

At 8:18 PM, February 22, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

well seeing duchess hasn't played columneetza, they couldn't have beat them, and kelly road does have their number right now, but the last few games, columneetza missed some key free throws, which woulda lead them to a victory, but on friday when kelly road and columneetza play its in cougars den, and today everyone in the school are all pumped up, its gonna be loud and i really dont think kelly road will have a chance.

At 8:23 PM, February 22, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Cam Spurr is Awful, he is one of the worst passers and makes the worst decisons out there. He hasnt had any good games since his first game against ladtsmith. Simply put he will not get an all star nor will he stand out, he will simply be riding the pine.

At 8:24 PM, February 22, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

do you even know basketball.. you're calling ladysmith overrated.. get a clue.. the word is dutchess is getting hyped for nothing.. cant wait till provincials to end all this wondering about whos better.

At 8:28 PM, February 22, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

what are you talking about...Duchess played and killed columneetza THIS year even without nathan. They beat them by 30. Columneetza sucks they don't even have one decently skilled player...

At 8:30 PM, February 22, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

lol, i feel bad for players, i doubt anybody from ladysmith, or duchess, or sahali, or columneetza, or anywhere else has said anything to hype their team, random people just say things and as a result people start knocking whoever is getting hyped at the moment, seriously guys if you go to ladysmith, or duchess, or whatever other team you are talking about say all you want, otherwise there's really no reason to say things

As a viewer i saw many diligent and intensive performances at the valley championship, however no team had more potential in being provincal contenders than Princess Margaret. Number 31 and 21 i think it was, have insane ability, they can both jump, shoot, dribble and pass, If their gaurds would pass them the ball, it would have been a massive upset for all okanagan valley teams. On top of that they had depth, and versatility in most players.
