AA Power Rankings Week 3

Last Updated Dec 18, 2005

A number of tournaments, some are still wrapping up like the round-robin Lambrick Park Tournament. Won't be much updates until the New Year as most teams have either out of province tournaments or are simply idle.

Will update this on a weekly basis, most likely every Sun. Think your team should be higher, or included in the Power Rankings?? Send me an take at BCSportsFanatic@yahoo.ca

01. Duchess Park Condors (1)
Could go undefeated this season. Win their own tournament easily by beating weak competition. Probably done until the New Year.

02. Ladysmith 49ers (5)
No head-to-head vs the top 4, but appear to be a consistent contender. Playing in the Lambrick Park tournament, played Oak Bay, SMU, and Spectrum, results unknown, but would expect to beat SMU and Spectrum.

03. Clarence Fulton Maroons (2)
Competed in the Penticton Tournament this past weekend, waiting for results. The Maroons have good size up front and with the exception of the loss to Duchess, should be a top 3 team all season.

04. St Thomas More Knights (4)
First look at the Knights and reports out of the St. George's tournament where they played in indicate that they should be very competitive this year in AA.

05. Lambrick Park (8)
Hosting the round-robin Lambrick Park tournament, playing SMU, Cedar, and Oak Bay. Played well in the Cowichan tournament last weekend finishing 4th with tough AAA competition.

06. Prince Rupert Rainmakers (3)
Not sure if they played anywhere this week, probably won't hear from them until the New Year. Will be dangerous come playoff time.

07. Hope Mustangs (7)
Won the Pacific Academy tournament beating Pacific Academy and AAA Queen Elizabeth. Eric Williams was named MVP. Reports indicate only 7 players dressed

08. Collingwood Cavaliers (6)
No game action this week, probably off until the New Year. Watch out for Sentinel and Sutherland coming up from the rear.

09. Sa-Hali Sabres (9)
The Sabres clashed with Westsyde over the weekend, this time Westsyde won. Both will battle to be #2 in the Okanagan.

10. Westsyde Blue Wave (10)
The Blue Wave beat Sal-Hali on the weekend. Off until the New Year.

11. Cedar Spartans (13)
Playing in the Lambrick Park round-robin tournament, games vs Stelly's, Lambrick Park, and Highland.

12. Southridge Storm (11)
Idle this week, still the 2nd best team in the FV in AA. Most likely off until the New Year.

13. Sentinel Spartans (NR)
Newcomer to Top 15 with strong showing at Sutherland tournament beating AAA Prince of Wales and host Sutherland.

14. DP Todd Trojans (12)
No action this week, probably done until Jan.

15. Sutherland Sabres (HM)
Hosted a tournament on the weekend beating Moscrop. Should be decent as the season goes along.

HM: College Heights, McMath, Summerland, Shawnigan Lake, Princess Margaret
Summerland and Princess Margaret played in the Penticton tournament, waiting for results. McMath had league games. Not sure about College Heights and Shawnigan Lake.

So who's going to make it off the island come spring?

LSS
Lambrick
Cedar?

has been this way the past couple of years, any different this year?

I know Willie's left Cedar, but they may be able to sneak in.

how is the pacific acamedy team? did they defeat southridge and by how much? that divison with southridge, holly cross, sands, P.A, and F.V.C whoz the top in that divison, i kno that southridge defeated sands in competive games, and sands killed F.V.C, and i've heard that P.A beat southridge, could some1 fill me in?

Pacific Academy team is good and yes they did defeat Southridge by 10 points i believe. In the end, it will be a dogfight for the top spot in the fraser valley south division between Southridge and Pacific Academy. But the rest of the teams in their division are not so great. It was not a competitive game between Southridge and Sands as Southridge beat them by around 20 points.
Only teams to worry about in that division are Pacific Academy and Southridge

You can't forget about Holy Cross they are getting better every day and will give P.A. and Southridge a run for their money.

STM loves playing teams in their first game of the Chancellor Tournament that they can blowout in front of their whole school. Good luck Windsor and talk about no respect. Play Dumas Physical!

so far from what i've seen, Holy Cross sucks...You guys have better have improved A LOT and have A LOT to prove if you think you "will give P.A. and Southridge a run for their money."

At 5:08 PM, December 29, 2005, Anonymous Anonymous said...

umm i would have to disagree there sands both times were defeated by 20ish but that was due to fouling near the end of the game, im sure southridge knows those games were not a cake walk as they had to fight for those win till the final minutes of the game sands was down 3 with about 3 mines to go but agian unexperienced players, who are more of football players lol jus got frastured took bad calls, southrdige is a well coached and a godo team, but at the end i believe sands will be able to give P.a and soutridge a run for there money, and for holly cross,, there horrible they played E.M and got destroye dand EM IS HORRIBLE so yea, Southridge P.a TOP in divsion will battle eachother hard, with the underdog sands team, which is 90% gr.11's carryin 2-3 12's on which only 1 starts

its gonna be interesting
ayn key players on P.A?

Westsyde's name is "Whundas" not "Blue Wave". (Their football team is the Blue Wave.)

That's messed up...

wtf is a whunda??

At 6:01 PM, January 01, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Cedar has beaten lambrick both times they've played them with margins of over at least 8 points. Lambrick shouldn't be 5th, and Cedar should be better

At 2:03 AM, January 02, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Westsyde in 10th behind Sa-hali? You should know that it's never a good idea to underestimate the Whundas... That's what they thrive on.
