AA Power Rankings Week 1

Last Updated Dec 11, 2005

Duchess certainly looks to be head and shoulders ahead of anyone else beating everyone at the Big Kahuna. Most of the rest of the rankings stay about the same.

Will update this on a weekly basis, most likely every Sun. Think your team should be higher, or included in the Power Rankings?? Send me an take at BCSportsFanatic@yahoo.ca

01. Duchess Park Condors (1)
Continue to dominate by winning the Big Kahuna Invitational easily with wins over ranked Fulton and Westsyde. Hosting a tournament this weekend, if anyone has a bracket please send me so I can do predictions. My guess is that they will win easily though...

02. Clarence Fulton Maroons (2)
Remain #2 despite getting slammed by Duchess. Still better than Westsyde, and haven't seen enough of PR and STM for them to overtake. The Maroons also hosting a tournament next weekend, would like to know who's in it.

03. Prince Rupert Rainmakers (3)
Won the Caledonia Tournament easily this weekend, beating Charles Hays in the 2nd and final game. Will they play a ranked team this season?? Would like to know how they matchup, although I suspect they can play with anyone in the top 3.

04. St Thomas More Knights (4)
Province Rankings have them at #3, not sure they are that good. We'll see them in action this weekend at the St. George's tournament. West Vancouver game there will be a good barometer.

05. Ladysmith 49ers (5)
Played well at Cowichan losing a couple of close games to AAA teams. Best team on the Island so far, most consistent. Not sure about upcoming games, send me info if you have it.

06. Collingwood Cavaliers (6)
Impressive at the HSBC beating AAA Richmond. Could move into the Top 5 next month. Not sure where they play next week, Sutherland tourney perhaps??

07. Hope Mustangs (7)
Idle this week, but have looked good in early season action. Again, not sure where they play next week, send me more info if you have it..

08. Lambrick Park (8)
Idle this week, hosting a tournament this coming weekend. Send me the bracket so I can break down.

09. Sa-Hali Sabres (HM)
Breaks the top 10 with most impressive showing beating Westsyde at the Big Kahuna. Will be a battle between the 2 all season for that #2 spot in the OK division. Not sure about next week action, could be at the Fulton Tournament.

10. Westsyde Blue Wave (9)
Lost to Sa-Hali at the Big Kahuna, so they drop a little, still a top 10 team though. Not sure if they are in the Fulton Tournament next weekend.

11. Southridge Storm (NR)
Good showing at the HSBC Classic this week playing Handsworth tough and beating McMath easily so they take McMath's spot. Need game info for next week.

12. DP Todd Trojans (10)
Played decent at the Big Kahuna winning their first game. Drop as a result of some new teams moving into the top 10. Not sure about next week action, but could be done until Jan.

13. Cedar Spartans (11)
Was in the Vanier tournament this weekend but lost big to Vanier by 30+. Win over Lambrick last week means they can play. Could be at the Lambrick tournament this coming weekend.

14. Shawnigan Lake (14)
Keeping status quo here, could go up or down from here..

15. St. Thomas Aquinas Saints (NR)
Newcomer to Top 15 by winning the St. Patrick's tournament by beating Notre Dame. Probably won't stay here but should get some respect. Not sure about next week game action.

HM: College Heights, McMath, Summerland, Sutherland, King George
Still trying to feel out the top 15 and beyond. McMath dropped after losing big to Southridge, too inconsistent to be a top 15 team. Summerland and King George are status quo, Sutherland was decent at HSBC and go higher.

duchess' tournament is bad, i believe it is a 4 team round robin with: Duchess Park, Smithers, Kelly Road, & Charles Hayes

Sports Fanatic,

I think you have to have some type of way to filter out anyone swearing on this. That just aint right. It is great that people can post their opinions, but let's keep it appropriate.

I'm a big fan of Cedar. I know Willie and Harlan have left, but I think that opens the door for Siggi and Braden to sneak in and surprise a few people.

Siggi is a top player, one that demands respect. Should be an intesting Island tournament this year.
