Pre-season AAA Power Rankings
Last Updated Dec 4, 2005
Will update this on a weekly basis, most likely every Sun. Think your team should be higher, or included in the Power Rankings?? Send me an take at BCSportsFanatic@yahoo.ca
01. Centennial Centaurs (5)
Centaurs win the NSIT, wins over Belmont, Kits, and Carson over the weekend. Samra was MVP, Balic and Sauciuc get 1st team all-stars. The Centaurs have enough depth to stay with any team in the province.
02. Saint George's Saints (3)
Had the week off preparing for HSBC coming up next week. From what we've seen early on, Bol looks healthy and isn't showing any ill-effects from the stress fracture. Murphy is hitting his stride, will be a tough team to beat all season.
03. Kitsilano Blue Demons (4)
Played well at NSIT. Nurse and Cochrane are an awesome 1-2 punch with plenty of range. With the way Nurse and Cochrane are lighting it up from the outside, expect Coach Coutts to use Woodham more for his defense on big posts than on offense. HSBC is up next.
04. Handsworth Royals (1)
Didn't look great in all games at NSIT. Need to keep Sacre out of foul trouble. Without him in the middle, the team is a little lost. Sacre changes the dynamic of the game everytime he's on the floor.
05. Brookswood Bobcats (2)
Had a few exhibition games this past week where Malish was scoring 40+. Will get a whole lot tougher next week in HSBC. The Bobcats should be a top 3 team so expect them to go up from here.
06. Claremont Spartans (6)
Idle most of the week. No HSBC, trying to find out if they play an games this week, if not will probably drop from here.
07. Killarney Cougars (7)
Beat Cambie and New West with ease. We'll see where they are at after this week and HSBC.
08. Dover Bay Dolphins (9)
Was idle this past week after big wins over Pitt and and North Delta last weekend. League action starts this week with game vs Ballenas.
09. Maple Ridge Ramblers (10)
Beat West Van easily in exhibition this week. Didn't compete in either the NSIT or HSBC but competed and won the Seaquam Tourney instead, beat Enver and Fleetwood. Is in the Walnut Grove tournament coming up with Fox and WRCA.
10. Carson Graham Eagles (NR)
Newcomer to the Top 15. Went to the final game of NSIT beating Pitt and Oak Bay along the way. HSBC coming up next.
11. Oak Bay Bays (8)
Lost in semis to Carson, should've been better. Beat West Van and Kelowna though. Not in HSBC next week, we'll see the results of coming weeks in league play.
12. Pitt Meadows Marauders (11)
Disappointing finish at NSIT, lost to Carson in the 2nd round. Should improve from here though. Not in HSBC next week.
13. Terry Fox Ravens (12)
Played exhibitions vs Salem OR and Longview WA this past week, results unknown. Play Mon-Fri next week in exhibition vs Burnaby South, Walnut Grove, West Van, WRCA. We'll see if they stand up to the test.
14. Belmont Bulldogs (NR)
Suprised everyone at the NSIT. Was by far the best Island team at the NSIT. Played well vs Cent and Handsworth. Not sure about next game action but will be keeping our eye out.
15. GP Vanier Towhees (14)
Westbrook was named 1st team all star, needs more support from the rest of his team or they will not make Provincials. Could go up or down from here.
HM: WRCA, Burnaby Central, Wellington, Kelowna, West Van, North Delta
WRCA will stay HM most of the season. Burnaby Central could make an appearance in the top 15 with a good showing at HSBC. Wellington may drop from here altogether. Kelowna will stick around as they are best in Okanagan. West Van and North Delta could dissappear from rankings as they are not as strong as first expected.

So Vanier loses to number 1 cent by 3 and then win out the rest of the tournament but are somehow ranked below belmont?
Are you gonna do a preview of the Saint Georges Tournament?
It Will be a St. Georges vs Centennial Final..
its a 6 team tourney with 2 pools
st g,enver,west van in one
cent,stm,thomas haney in the other
West Vans gonna move up, they have barely worked on there offense or any team defnese + press + press break and the talents there, just wait for them to turn it on. Also the guy who coached them last year is stepping back because of family commitments but the coaches they now have are really good
Dover did play this weekend and they beat Walnut Grove easily, and then beat Brookswood at Brookswood. Malish was injured early, but dover was up 20-4 at the point he came out.
Carson is in Alberta this weekend, and not at HSBC.
Vanier looked alright for a team with 7 guys. That is tough.
Oak Bay looked tired in their game against Carson. Rushton had a ton of looks, but could not get it going. If he gets it going, it is a long night for any opponent. They may have one of the best backcourts in BC.
If Gary stays out of foul trouble, Pitt can dominate anyone out there. He is a major key, without him they lose the inside presence.
Cent looks good, but it is early, and they have the experience playing together for the same coach. They have a major addition with Samra, and he looked good this weekend. I don't know how much more they can improve, but only time can tell!
Oak Bay I Believe they are Over-Rated.. they might not make the bcs solid teams on the island and i heard Island may get 2 berhts only
Centennial will only improve as the season goes on ill be scary once Samra knows the offence inside out
yeah Oak Bay is a bit over-rated. they didnt look too bad vs kits though, until they got into foul trouble. Rushton was money in that game, too bad he wasn't hitting against Carson or they could have made finals, their point guard is also very talented. The draw didn't seem too good, I would have liked to see either Handsworth or Kits on the other side for a more exciting final.
Kits played shifts .. and ty nurse sat out lol
Yes thats true, of course Kits is a much much better team, but Oak didn't look bad as a team.
yah they arent bad but were a bit over ranked to start the season..
what do u think tommorows province paper will have the rankings>
West Van is averaging 2 Technicals a game lol
Dover did beat Brookswood and Malish did get injured after the First Half when Dover was up by 14.
west van sucks. They will suck this year and next year so i dont no why you are trying to hype your own team up cuase your just going to look like an idiot when they lose to fraser acadamy
dude west van is a solid team, not many team have as much talent as them
anyone got the lowdown on maple ridge?? how good are they?? any key players?? halllllllla
west van has more talent then most teams? if they had so much talent do you think maby they would have cracked the top 15? dumb comment
talent doesnt always = wins
what terrible rankings. vanier behind claremont, oak bay, dover bay and belmont just for losing one game by 3 points to the best team in the province when they ewere missing 2 starters and only had 6 players!!!!!
Amen what the hell is wrong with this guy.
