Pre-season AAA Power Rankings
Last Updated Nov 27, 2005
Will update this on a weekly basis, most likely every Sun. Think your team should be higher, or included in the Power Rankings?? Send me an take at BCSportsFanatic@yahoo.ca
As this is pre-season there will be a lot of movement in the next few weeks/month. Will be following tournament play and league play closely from week to week.
01. Handsworth Royals (1)
NSIT and HSBC tournaments coming up in the next 2 weeks. Beat WRCA in an exhibition game by 9pts. Heard Sacre, Keast and Leigh had big games.
02. Brookswood Bobcats (2)
Been getting a lot of flack for ranking Brookswood so high. If they can't pull it through at HSBC, will drop some. In his UBC press release, Malish says that signing before the season begins will allow him to concentrate on the season, we'll see if that happens. HSBC tourney coming up, key game will be against Centennial in the Quarters, a team they have never beaten (2006 class of players).
03. Saint George's Saints (6)
Won their exhibition vs Fox this weekend easily. Bol looks to be ready for the season showing no ill effects from the injury. Murphy dominated Murray for the most part and is playing with a swagger that we've not seen before, watch out. HSBC coming up next.
04. Kitsilano Blue Demons (4)
Didn't play this week since winning the Ridge Tip-off Tourney last weekend. Making the big push for NSIT this weekend then HSBC the week after. Some are saying the Blue Demons should be ranked #1, we'll see...
05. Centennial Centaurs (5)
No action this week, NSIT and HSBC coming up. Starting 5 is probably the most balanced in the province in Pineda, Sauciuc, Balic, Loehle and Samra. Big Quarterfinal matchup vs Brookswood at the HSBC. A good showing at both NSIT and HSBC, and they will move up.
06. Claremont Spartans (3)
Heard they lost to Vanier by 30+ over the weekend in an exhibition game, albeit without Casey and Janzen. Will see how the Spartans fare when Volleball Provincials are over and the dynamic duo are back.
07. Killarney Cougars (9)
Beat Magee in exhibition action. Cambie on Mon and New West on Wed before HSBC next week. We'll see where they are at after this week and HSBC.
08. Oak Bay Bays (10)
Defending Island Champions. Lots of experience, but not enough talent yet to be ahead of Claremont. First action will be at NSIT.
09. Dover Bay Dolphins (HM)
Newcomer to the Top 15. Beat Pitt and and North Delta over the weekend, impressive indeed.
10. Maple Ridge Ramblers (HM)
Did well in their own Tourney last weekend and came 3rd in the Kelowna tournament this weekend. Casey named MVP. The Ramblers have started to turn some heads and look to keep up the momentum. Too bad they're not in NSIT or HSBC. Exhibition vs West Van on Tue.
11. Pitt Meadows Marauders(8)
Lost to Dover Bay in an exhibition on the Island. So far only big win early on was over Fox. Expect them to get better as the season goes on.
12. Terry Fox Ravens (7)
Dropping like a rock, lost all their games at the Ridge Tip-off, then lose big to St. George's. Murphy vs Murray ended in an unamimous decision to Murphy.
13. West Vancouver Highlanders (12)
Football players are done, ready to focus on Basketball. Not sure about the coaching situation, rumors about some issues there. First real test will be at the NSIT, big first game vs Burnaby Central. Didn't join HSBC but play Ridge this week, and Fox in next week in exhibition action.
14. GP Vanier Towhees(14)
Beat Claremont over the weekend (Claremont without Janzen and Casey). Next up will be at the NSIT. Look out for Westbrook...
15. Kelowna Owls (13)
Came 2nd in their own tournament over the weekend. Lost to AA Duchess Park in the final game. Next will be the NSIT.
HM: WRCA, Argyle, Burnaby Central, Wellington, MEI, North Delta
WRCA kept things close vs Handsworth in their exhibition game, Stewart, Dekoster, and Mara make up a good nucleus, plus the coaching is solid. Argyle should be tough to beat as usual, heard they lost to AA Duchess last week. Wellington was at the Lambrick tournament past weekend, don't know how they did. Finally North Delta starts off the pre-season with some big losses, were previously ranked but drop as a result. MEI was idle, wait to see how they play before they get ranked.

How Do You Feel About BASKETBALL BC RANKINGS? n the players to watch?
You mean The Province Rankings??
It's a little early to say, but top 10 AAA was pretty close.
Pitt and Fox are ranked a little high as we've seen early action already and both have been anything but. Should've mentioned Argyle and Burnaby Central but didn't. Carson, PG, Fleetwood and Gleneagle are interesting choices for HM...
I think Enver should make some noise this year.Kevin Grewal will be back in the next 2 weeks.Kyle Grewal is much improved from last year.As of now they have the out of control Cujo Jhauj running the point and he just can't get the ball to Kyle .Look for Kevin Grewal to make a major impact as at 6'4 he has great court vision and is a great interior passer.Look for Enver Creek to be a top 10 team by Christmas
I Heard Kevin Is Playing.. and that they lost to Churchill and Guildford Park?
Kevin wasn't playing. And we (GP) didn't beat them. They beat us bad in the first halfthen we played them even in the second half.
ND beat seaquam 66-40 something..they looked sloppy but they have some real talent..watch out.
who did ND loose to..?
ND lost to Pitt and Dover. Didn't look that great against Seaquam but still managed to win pretty big.
ND has lots of talend, i dont know how well they will do but i know they are pretty good, they have some good gr.11's too.look for them to win some big games.
Centennial should def move up
centennial wins NSIT...they should definitely move up the rankings...
when is this getting updated
my team si the beast, we deserve better, put us number one, blah blah blah just play
