STM tourney was a good preview for Mainland teams fighting for the last 2 provincial berths.

Burnaby South, Palmer and PW I think all lost first round. South is really overrated.

Byng looked horrible first round against Notre Dame, but had not played since middle of Dec. Was missing 2 starters as well. Had poor stretches in quarters against VC, but had VC on their heels down by 7 with 4 mins left in 4th when star fouled out. Lost to VC by 10 or 11. lost 3rd round game, played bench whole game.

Central looked good. Didn't see the game but lost to VC by about 10.

Nice result by Magee this week. Could sneak in to provincials.

Provincal berths will be determined by match ups and luck. Churchill is a good team that is disciplined and experienced, but they are small. They will have great difficulty with Central, Saints, Kits, Byng. They simply cannot match up with size.

Richmond teams will not make provinicials.

PW will be competitive next season.

Injury or illness to hunter on magee or blake on churchill would give either team no chance of making provinicals. Central is more balanced, as is Palmer and Byng.

The draw will be crucial for Chruchill. If they loose to a top team (Saints/Kits) and then draw Central or Byng in consolation round it could be trouble. If they get Magee, South or a Richmond team they will advance to provincials.
