Kelowna Owls vs Centennial Centaurs

Kelowna Owls Preview

The Owls did the expected and won the AAA Okanagan Championships in a close win over Mt Boucherie in the finals. The Owls haven't had a lot of exposure playing in the Interior. They won a weaker tournament and played well at the North Shore Invitational at the beginning of the season. They later had a good showing at the Western Canada Tournament which they hosted. They came in 7th out of 8 but played Ross-Sheppard and Raymond tough (both ranked teams from AB). The Owls are a young team (only 4 seniors), with lots of athleticism. Their biggest weakness is size, they're not very tall or big.

Players to Watch for: Zack Frelic, Tyler Maroon, Dean Kmyta
Outlook: The Owls will lose a relative close one to the Centaurs, but should win out in the Consolation of the bottom 4 seeds.

Centennial Centaurs Preview

Where to start. The Centaurs started the season with a bang by winning the North Shore Invitational. They also beat St. George's at St. George's to win the Domino Invitational to see their ranking soar. Unfortunately, it's been mostly downhill ever since. Then midway through the season 1 player's "extra-cirricular" activities and some injuries really seem to shake the Centaurs. They were the concensus #1 from the Fraser Valleys to begin the season, but barely made the Provincials by taking the #7 spot in the Valleys. They were decent at the Fraser Valley Championships winning some big elimination games vs Enver Creek and Terry Fox, but the losses to Brookswood and Gleneagle exposed the Centaurs biggest weakness, shutdown defense. The Centaurs are simply not a very good defensive team. On offense, the Centaurs are one of, if not the most balanced team in the league. They shoot the ball well, and are patient and disciplined. Another knock on the Centaurs is that they don't have a guy that can dominate a game.

Players to Watch for: Lucian Sauciuc, Elvic Balic, Jansper Pineda, Paul Samra
Outlook: As the season has gone on, a lot of teams have scouted the Centaurs and know their weaknesses. The Centaurs will win a close one over the Owls but will probably lose the rest of their games. They have beaten Kitsilano before at the North Shore Tournament at the beginning of the season, but I can't see the Centaurs pulling off that upset this time around.

has anybody noticed this season that Cent. and Duchess Park in AA are the same team? they are both relatively guard dominated and small but can go inside if need be, have about the same team height, both like to run and play a fast paced game with a balanaced offensive attack but both have trouble playing D i think it would be fun to watch these two teams play as both teams would probably end with well over 100

I agree with the first guy, Centennial will be ready to play. they're mostly all seniors that have been there before, and I think that if they can get by Kelowna without any injuries, they can beat Kits.

His names dexter. Only reason he starts is because u have to have 5 ppl on the floor. Probably the biggest fag uve ever seen. he thinks hes nuts. He hits the odd shot.

Cent will barely get past the owls but thats it

Dexter is a great player from what ive seen, he might not be an explosive offensive player but he does the other things well like passing, playing great defence and rebounding.

how does he suck when he scored 24 against riverside in the strongest league in the province and 18 against maple ridge and the last time i saw ridge finshed 3 in the valley and how did he score 17 points against brookswood in the hsbc quarter finals if hes a player they just have to put on. You can see him in the province when they did an article on paul samra. Ask kyle watkins about him hes still pickin the facials off his face.
