2006 AAA Lower Mainland Championships

Lower Mainlands started last Thu with the Semis being played on Fri. Consolation will be a dogfight for the final 3 provincial berths.

1. St. Georges
2. Kitsilano
3. Magee
4. Burnaby South
5. Churchill
6. Killarney
7. Boyd
8. Burnett
9. Burnaby Central
10. Palmer
11. New West
12. Van Tech
13. Richmond
14. Lord Byng
15. Burnaby Mountain
16. Charles Tupper

First 2 rounds have been played. Semis feature St. George's/Burnaby South and Kits/Magee. The Kits/Magee game could actually be close, with Magee an outside chance. St. George's vs Kitsilano could be a Provincial Championship preview.

I'm predicting Magee will beat Churchill in the consolation and then beat Burnaby South in the 3/4 game. Then Churchill will beat Killarney in the 5/6 game to get the last provincial berth. The Burnaby South/Killarney rematch will be one hell of a game. The neutral site may give Killarney a slight advantage but I'm still going with South.

Richmond was extremely disappointing to watch going into the playoffs, first at the Richmond district final, then losing both games here at the lower mainlands. Burnett and Palmer look solid for next year.

Burnaby Central still has a chance but I'm thinking they will fade out in the last few games.

BCSportsFanatic you have the draw wrong. Magee and Churchill can't meet in the consolation and neither can Burnaby South and Killarney. If South loses to Saints. They'd play Churchill. If Magee loses to Kits, they play Killarney.

you must be absolutely crazy not having magee in there, you obviously havent seen them this year, they are led by hunter who is possibly the most underrated player in vancouver despite the article in the province, aaron mah a very good guard and have great size with a guy at 6'7 at 5 and they also have a 6'5er playing 3. they've already proved that there legit by beating churchill in cities in double OT, and close games with kits. when it comes to it, killarney is overrated they got killed by south, but you still have them over south? there is no way that magee wont make it.

I agree Killarney has probably under achieved, but they are still a pretty dangerous team.

I've seen Magee play a few times, beating Churchill doesn't prove nothing, Churchill's a solid team but they're very beatable as well. Magee's got good size but the 3 guys they have over 6-4 probaly combine for less than 20 rebs and 5 blocks a game, so what good is that?

South, Palmer and Churchill have proven that size is overrated.

I don't think Magee matches up well with Killarney, they're too soft so i see them losing that game and then losing to South again for the last spot (that's how i see them not making it)

Misleading comment about magee.
There 3 man plays like hes 6'2 hes kinda a panzee. The key is really that asian point guard, if he can playmake for Hunter then they will win

i dont think palmer was disapppointing considering they're all grade 11s, and went to OT against churchill in game1..and it turns out Churchill's going to the BCs
