Are these valleys gonna have some really good games in it.... Are there any chances that any underdog teams are going to come out of the valleys like mission haney or poppy?

At 9:34 AM, February 06, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

most likely there will not be any upsets as there are three strong teams in Southridge, Pacific Academy and Hope

anybody have any information about mission, who are there good players?

At 5:45 PM, February 06, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

hey, are there two or three berths coming from the fraser valley??

At 10:31 AM, February 07, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

the first round matchups are as follows:

#1 Hope
#8 Sands/Carney

#4 Southridge
#5 Thomas Haney

#2 Pacific Academy
#7 Sands/Carney

#3 Mission
#6 DW Poppy

only 2 births, if u come third and u havent played the second team in the tourny you can challenge them

At 3:28 PM, February 07, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Looks like it will be Hope vs Pacific Academy in the Final with Southridge beating out mission for 3rd

At 3:51 PM, February 07, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

How good is mission, who do they got, the are undefeated so they must be ok.

I think southridge is gonna give Hope a good run, they match up pretty good, if southridges bug man suchs down eric williams, southridge will have a good chance to win

At 4:00 PM, February 07, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

southridges big man has absolutely no chance against eric williams

At 4:16 PM, February 07, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

yeah but if southridge can find a way to stop Eric Williams then southridge should take the game because southridge is better in all other positions

At 4:56 PM, February 07, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

southridges guy is like 6"6 and probubly at least 240, he is a beast, freaking slow though,

At 5:19 PM, February 07, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I think everyone is underestimating our league...... Us and Haney are not gonna be push over games like everyone from PA and Southridge and Hope thinks.... I can see Us or haney being finals... Mission vs Haney and Pa vs Hope as semis
That is what going to happen then we should beat haney again if we play a good game. And then in finals, DONT THREE TEAMS MAKE IT??

At 5:20 PM, February 07, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Sorry My mistake.... I meant Hope vs Haney and we will play Pacific in semis and then who knows what will happen.

At 6:31 PM, February 07, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

only 2 teams make it

At 7:18 PM, February 07, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

they will not stop eric. guaranteed. And Hope has three other guys capable of scoring twenty every game. No chance southridge will beat Hope. Hope is better in every position except maybe point guard.

At 10:27 PM, February 07, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

this thread is getting rediculous. The top three teams are PA, SRidge and Hope. Hope will probably beat Srigde (and even if eric williams is shut down, ive seen them shoot the ball, they're good) PA will win they're side easily, no questions asked. It will be a great final game but Hope will take it. Enough said.

say whatever you want, but in times like these it shows what a team is really made of, and i won't be suprised if there are some upsets. like last year when d.w. poppy lost their first game ... wtf was up with that

has anybody who has seen both mission and pacific academy play think that mission has a realistic chance of winning?

i thought it was three teams that go??

At 7:38 PM, February 09, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

ALL I KNOW IS THIS WE WILL SEE WHAT HAPPENS IN THE VALLEYS I mean people could have bad games. Like hope losin to mountain.... there might be reasons.... but it just happens and that will determin the valleys Game by game so keep ur heads up IT IS GOING TO BE A SHOWDOWN IN THE VALLEYS
I predict this as the games.
hope and Haney winning there games.....
Pacific and Mission winning there games.
Then Hope and Pacific winning there games.....
and Then Hope winning and pacific coming second then either haney..... or mission winning third place.

HOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLY FAAAAAAAAAAACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SOMEBODY TELL THIS MISSION IDIOT TO SHUTUP!!

At 8:49 PM, February 09, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

LOL
i agree

it is gonna be hope and PA, close game see, i cant predict a winner here, isnt gonna be easy for either team.

and there is only 2 spots in frasers, third place team can challenge second place if they havent played them in the valleys.

At 9:45 PM, February 09, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

If hope is gonna have a hard time with P.A., wouldn't that also mean they will have a hard time with Southridge in the semi's??

At 3:08 PM, February 10, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

i think that southridge will keep the game close but hope will go on and win the game by around 10 with some difficulty

At 6:47 PM, February 11, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

they are in the frasers, they just beat carney in overtime by three points in the thrid place qualifier

so what happened in the aldergrove carney game then?

At 2:58 PM, February 12, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

it's on monday at carney i believe

At 4:50 PM, February 13, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

what is that game for? Didn't carney automatically make it.

At 6:10 PM, February 13, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

wtf are u talking about? why would carney autimatically make it?

At 9:30 PM, February 13, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

i dont go to sands..
but
for some reason
i am going to predict that
sands will beat hope...
(football i watched sands play barsby and amazingly come back) whats with these boys and comebacks) sure carney is not even cloes to be as good as hope but
the way they played the second thrid and 4th after fallin 33-5 after the slowest start ever..
they jus dominated coming back int hat game, taking so many bad calls, as carny point guard was travleing all game ladning on foot and goin up on his "pro hoop" ref called it maybe once outta 100 times as he scored 25-30
but rprobally
HOPE , PA, Southridge go to provicnals..my underdog is Sands and Haney

At 9:45 PM, February 13, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

any team that is losing to carney 33-5 cannot beat Hope. I predict Hope wins by 30+.

At 9:50 PM, February 13, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

only two teams go to provincials. and sands has no chance against us on wednesday. They might as well not show up if they were gettin beat that bad by a team as weak as carney.

At 10:18 PM, February 13, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Firstly, Sands was not losing 33-5, they were losing 33-28 at halftime, however, they were losing 29-9 at one point in the 1st quarter.

Secondly, I don't go to Hope or Sands, but i'm just gonna be honest with you, the way Sands played in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th wasn't that special.

Hope >>>>>>>>>>>> Sands :-D

byebye

At 2:48 PM, February 14, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

haha.............sands beat hope. ur talking about a football team not giving up and posting remarkable comeback., what does that have to do with anything?? they finished below .500 in their division. they will be lucky to finish 7th.

At 7:17 PM, February 14, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

sands is always hated
i love it
and i thought three teams go to provicnals?
not jus two?

At 9:28 PM, February 14, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

What are you talking about?
Nobody hates Sands.
We hate you.
Because you post stupid ass comments and compare football teams to basketball teams.

And no, only 2 teams go through to provincials this year. Not sure why they took a berth away from FV. Maybe it's because Clayton and Johnston Heights had to move up to AAA.

At 9:47 PM, February 14, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

i think FV should have 2.5 berths, but it is only 2, doesnt make sense, yes they lost clayton and johnston heights, but sands was added..... sands has a really talented team, just very undiciplend, have some great athleats, one good center and another ok big man, and one guy that can really shoot.

At 9:48 PM, February 14, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

who the hell does sands have on there team, any stand outs

At 12:29 AM, February 15, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

VALLLEYS ARE GONNA BEGIN TOMOROW

HERE ARE THE PREDICTIONS FOR THE FIRST ROUND

HOPE beating SANDS by 25 ++++
HANEY beating Southridge by 5-10
MISSION beating POPPY by 4-8
PACIFIC Beating Carney/Aldergrove by 30+

The second round I am not shure of since i havent seen teams match up agains each other this year....

At 6:21 PM, February 15, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

sands lost by 10 to Hope. It was a tie game going into third but sands just got killed after that.

At 6:34 PM, February 15, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

i jus wonder why it was predicted hope to win by so much and hope barely coming ontop it was a decent game, if sands offesne clicked they would have been able to win that game but eric w was shut down most of the game, and sands allowed way to many east baskets,
hope is very easily beatable and P.a i believe can take them out along with southridge
Hanyey/Southridge vs sands next from the top of the bracket
any predictions?
should be a good game

At 6:36 PM, February 15, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

yea sands played well at times having leads
but hope just worked alot harder then sands
sands is very under-rated i could say after watching them run with hope

Haney or Southridge?

At 7:29 PM, February 15, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Southridge beat haney today... That means that prediction was wrong.. Although Haney was up by ten at half and fell apart with pressure Defence... But Sands Will get killed by haney they are too fast and have good shooters... And Southridge and Hope shall be a good game, southridge has more speed it looks like but Eric Williams is hard to stop even just geting rebounds.

Mission or Poppy?

how is sands and who are there players to key on

At 9:29 PM, February 15, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

One guard hits a lot of shots and their big guy is decent. Their point guard draws defenders then just dishes to the post.

WHO WON ALL THE FIRST GAMES TODAY AND WHAT ARE ANYONES PREDICTIONS FOR THE SECOND ROUND

At 9:50 PM, February 15, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Who won mission or poppy?
second round i say hope beats soutridge by 10+

At 10:12 PM, February 15, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

i think Southridge will take Hope. Watching Hope play Sands today, I think Hope is very beatable. Hope's only plan is to work it into the center. They didn't hit any three balls or jumpers, it was all short shots and rebounds. Sands could have beat them if they crashed the boards harder and if their shots woulda started dropping

At 10:22 PM, February 15, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

what are the results for the other games in the FV's?

At 10:34 PM, February 15, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Not trying to make any excuses on our behalf (hope) but we havent had a game in a couple weeks and we were pretty rusty, especially in the first half. And it wasn't tied in the third like that guy said we were up 6 at half time and we were up 18 in the fourth and they hit a couple threes toward the end. Congrats to Sands on a hard fought game tho. But anyways, we didn't play that great, i expect we'll come out strong tomorrow. Southridge will have to work really hard to beat us. I promise you that.

At 11:09 PM, February 15, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Hope beat Sands ( by like 10)

Southridge beat Haney( by like 20)

DW Poppy Beat Mission( by like 10)

PA Beat Aldergrove ( Almost 40)

hope you guys are makin excuses you guys arent a number 1 ranked team, i believe a team liek southridge should and will beat you guys by 10+, sands isnt as good as southridge and you guys had trouble, and eric williams isnt nothing special, agaisnt sands he was shutdown entirly aspect for rebounds which to him some credit got him alot of points,
1. Southridge
2. Pa
3. Hope

hope agaisnt either haney or sands in my belief in that 3rd place game,

sands=underated..what happend to losing by 10 20 or whatever was said previously..
haney got shutdown from the first second of the game, sands dominated and controlled the pace and structure of that game, haney has some great players thought which indivually made the game close

who won between
d.w and p.a?
loser plays sands

other side of the bracket
?wats goin on

fill in the scores as they go thanks

small chance at provicnals for them still

At 9:54 PM, February 16, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I watched the Sands haney game before my game started.. Sands got Friggen Lucky.. I saw haney play against Southridge and they had an absolute horrible game against Sands... Sands is going to get murdered by POPPY cause Poppy is a way better and faster team.

At 10:20 PM, February 16, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

so many excuses...like come on...how does a team get lucky?
they shot the ball well
shutdown haney they played excellent
alot of you need to shutup and apperticte teams who come out play hard and get a victory, sands is better then haney cuz they beat them end of story like get your head straights they were suppose to get murdered by hope? lost by 12
suppose to get murdered by hanyey won by like 15ish?

haters..love it

poppy vs sands should be good
i dont know so much about murdered

At 10:35 PM, February 16, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

yea i agree
i watched sands play and they didnt get lucky at all
they played some good basketball
there are a good team, i herad there mostly 11's and have a alot of talent on the waiting due to injuries or football trainin or something
some of my friends from there were saying
i dunno if they will beat poppy
snads is quick, strong, and a smart team
poppy is bigger i believe and i dunno how well do they shoot the ball cuz i didnt stay to watch
who won the hope game?

At 10:43 PM, February 16, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

sands will beat poppy, in a close game
loose in the 3rd/4th game
fill in latest scores? please

hope kills southridge by 23. great game.

At 1:50 AM, February 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

haha..........yah, mission did real well. 2 and out, great season. Just goes to show how weak their division is and how they couldnt even compete with some decent teams. better luck next year boys, hahahaha.

At 2:16 AM, February 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

hope played a virtually flawless game and beat Southridge handily 75-52. After seeing that game i know why people say that you can't just focus on Eric the rest of the team kicked ass as well. Good game Hope guys. Good luck against Pac.

At 2:24 AM, February 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

i wouldn't really say Hope KILLED southridge. They slowly got it up to a 10-15 point lead in the 1st quarter, then it seemed like Southridge figured out how to defend Eric, but couldn't catch up. The other players on Hope really stepped up. Made all their open shots. They definitly have more than Eric. It was a 13 point game at halftime i think and it stayed that way till like 3 or 2 minutes left in the game, when southridge started fouling. but yeah good game..........

number 1 from southridge, number 8 from hope

At 11:24 AM, February 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

hahaha. what do you mean hope didnt kill southridge? is a margin of 23 too narrow for you? what would you consider a "kill"?? if this game was supposed to be tight, how come they won by so much. Get ur facts straight. Im sure everyone else would agree that that game was a blowout.

MVP: Eric Williams

1st Team:

Ray Douglas (Hope)
Jono Voros (Pac Academy)
#33 from Pac
#1 from Southridge
Nick Adamson (DW Poppy)

2nd Team:

Kyle Kjemhus (Hope)
#5 from Southridge
#23 from Sands
#55 from Pac
#21 from Thomas Haney

At 12:04 PM, February 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

#8 THOMAS Haney good shooter see the floor well. 2nd team all star

At 12:06 PM, February 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I havnt really seen many of the other players but i know #5 wont be 2nd team allstar at the game against hope were it really counter he failed i think i shot maybe 15-18 three pointers and made two he choked when it counter end of story

At 1:28 PM, February 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

21 Thomas Haney not all star at all.

At 3:09 PM, February 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

if Sands and Southridge make it to the third/fourth game Hope has offically qualified for provincials.

if Poppy and Aldergrove make it to the third/fourth game Pac Academy has officially qualified for provincials.

I'd say life's lookin pretty good for Hope. No way aldergrove's beating Southridge and I don't think DW Poppy can beat both Sands and Southridge in a row. Even if they do and Hope finishes second Hope has already beat Poppy in both league games this year by 20+. I would expect to see Hope finish first. Pac second and Southridge third. Which means Pac and Southridge would play in the challenge game on monday at PA (6:15)

At 3:19 PM, February 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

i was at the game last night hope has three excellent three point shooters. (14, 8, 10) If they are on and Eric plays like Eric they are so dangerous.

At 3:42 PM, February 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Hope did look pretty good last night. Eric was quite dominant inside both on offense and defense (couple of nice pins on the glass at his own end) If they hit shots like they did last night, PA has no chance.

At 5:11 PM, February 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

sands winn beat d.w poppy

sands southridge 3rd 4th game

#23 sands first team not ray douglas
hes a garbage player
he aint no basketball player
give him a lacross stick

At 5:18 PM, February 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

i wouldn't call it a blowout between Hope and southridge.
it was just like a 10-15 point game with 2 minutes remaining in the game and taht's when Southridge was forced to start fouling which added up to 23 point difference.
I don't know if Hope usually shoots the way they did yesterday, but if they shot the way they did against Sands, the game they had vs Southridge would have been much closer.

At 5:33 PM, February 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

As of now who do u think all stars will be.... My predictions are this...
MVP eric Williams

1st team
Ray Douglas
#9 Pacific
BIG guy Sands
#1 Southridge.
#33 Pacific

2nd team
#8 Poppy
#55 Pacific
# 8 Haney
#23 Sands
not sure about last one. But those are my picks
POST UR ALL STAR BALLOT

At 6:22 PM, February 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Maybe not a blowout by Hope over Southridge, but I would call it a complete domination. From middle of the second quarter, there was no doubt who would win, especially after that banked three pointer from just over center at the half time buzzer.

Is it true that it is Sands vs Southridge for 3rd/4th?

At 6:27 PM, February 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

number 8 from Hope definitely deserves 1st team consideration. Got great slashing moves and is able to take contact and finish. He does seem to get a little too cocky at times, but that seems to be common among the whole team.

At 8:46 PM, February 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

sands was suppose to get murdered?

won by 16ish

fill score in soutridge n aldegrov asap

looks like a sleeper team

Sands beat Poppy!!!
how did that happen
anyone with details???

Southridge vs Aldergrove should be well into it by now. C'mon Aldergrove

At 9:01 PM, February 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Dominated from 1st Quarter, key was the big man, and couple 3 point shooters of sands, completed shut down #8 on Poppy

At 9:09 PM, February 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Hope is on there way to the provincials... they were awesome the other night.... eric williams will likely be the mvp. he has his ups and downs but was incredible in last game.... but hope has a few excellent players. 14 has been the best player since grade 8. had some health issues last year but he is the heart of the team... if he heats up look out. He sets the tone. usually sits out half the game and still comes away with 15-20 and sets up the big guy... oh yeah and taylor, douglas can hit the threes and rebound with the best. pac is good but will loose.

At 9:19 PM, February 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

All stars....

mvp - eric williams - hope

1st team
14 kyle kjemhus - hope
33 pacific
1 southridge
9 pacific
10 reid taylor - hope

who won the southridge game!!! lol

umm yea sands is a good team
couple great shooters..
good size inside
two good point guards if one gets in foul trouble the other comes in
overall they are a well-rounded team
should be interesting 3/4 game

see you boys in kamloops

sands is a surprising team
past scores aganist southridge dont mean anything
it will be tight but if sands give it to their bigs and knock down their shots
they will be in that 3rd spot

Hey buddy, with the racist jokes? What the hell is your problem? The kid is a good player and you're sinkin pretty low to make fun of the kid being first nations. Go post somewhere else, you're not wanted here.

yah, hopes a one man show. Thats why three of their guys posted 15+ points against southridge eh?? haha, if they are such a one man team, why are they going to kamloops brainiac?? If the rest of the team were a bunch of plugs, im sure williams would not be able to do it on his own. As much as I hate hope, they have had a somewhat successful season and deserve to go to bc's. Like cmon, they beat southridge by 20+

o good point taken..
well they have some diversty on there team..its a minimal tho

At 12:45 PM, February 18, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

ok firstly they are not all brown, they are probably actually the most multicultural team in this tournament.

they have brown people, white people, asian person, and a black coach.

Secondly, so what if they were all brown? what does that have to do with racism? Southridge is supposed to be a single-A school. The people that are on their team right now are all the people in grade 11 and 12 that wanted to play from their school. they don't even have tryouts. so really, i'm still not quite understanding what you mean by when you say:

"If we wanna get into racism why don't we talk about Southridge?"

aaaaaaaaaaanyway.......

after having played both sands and southridge i don't even think sands beating southridge would be an upset. Sands is quite underrated. They're solid defensively, and I think have a good shot and taking down Southridge.

hey im from sands...
shit it really hurts..watching hope give up an 18 point lead to pac..and losin in overtime by 6 or w/e it was..wow it really sucks..
i believe out team finnaly reaced its peak as we defeated some good teams by 20ish..and i believe and i can say we would have been able to defeat hope or pac if we had a game at them..i wish the frasers had 3 berths..
that would have been great..but F**** it really sucks, especially for number 23 on sands..probally one the best shooters, in the province i would say, and i believe any1 who played agiasnt him would agree, hes a great player/teammate and laeader on the floor
great basketball player
Hope, you guys played well, I WISH YOU GUYS held the lead, Ray douglas, i was one of the non believers in you but you proved that your a great ball player, credit to you and eric played liek crap lol im sorry ur way better then that

how does a team blow a 20 point lead....if hope won i guarantee that sands would of taken it against PA...they would of completely dominated them...as a team they defensively shut down everyone they played and 23 took over their offense

im not very familiar with double A but i can say they will be in the provicnals, knowing that one of there 6'7 guys and 6'4 players did not play due to injuries
they'll be good hopefully

At 1:57 AM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Sands honestly surprised me a lot. When I saw them play agaisnt Hope, I didnt know if it was a fluke that they kept them to a 12 point loss, or if they were actually good. They rallied the rest of the tourney, and dominated Haney when they were supposed to get killed, dominated Poppy when they were supposed to get killed, and then dominated Southridge with their defense, when again, they were supposed to get killed. Its a shame theres not 3 spots for provincials, cuz Sands would have probably gone there and surprised some more teams. Props to them, the underdog of the tourney coming 3rd. Congrats to PA too on an outstanding win. Cya in the provincials

At 2:25 AM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

that was a great final game. unfortunately hope had a couple injuries in the second half, otherwise sands would have probably beat pa. number 10 i htink hurt his ankle and 14 hit his head or somethin, i'm not sure but he dint' play much in 4th. Pac was crazy in the second half they hit every freakin shot they took. It was a fun game to watcch.

yeah #10 injured his ankle. He wasn't doing much that game but their bench player #9 came in and hit a couple of big shots.

sands was a suprising team, i think they will win the frasers next year,
what other teams will be strong?

At 12:16 PM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

i think mission might compete, they are also a young team

At 12:18 PM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

no allstar for #11 sands?
whats up with that?!!

At 12:51 PM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Mission will not be good next year. They have horrible coaching and let's face it, even though they are mostly grade 11s, they are not very talented.

P.A. will still be good next year. They will still have #33 who is their 2nd best player(got a 1st team allstar) and they have a really good coach so their team will be very disciplined.

Southridge will also be a good team next year. I think 2 of their starters will be returning but only 2 grade 11's were on the bench. I am not sure if they will have any great grade 10's coming through next year, but their best player #1 will be returning next year and he makes everyone around him a better player. Like, P.A., they also have an excellent coach.

Sands will definitly be the best team in the Fraser Valley next year. They will only be losing 3 players. 2 of which are starters and 1 that hardly ever gets on the floor. They will lose their best player #23, but will have a grade 10 coming up next year who plays a similar type of game as him.

I can garuantee that Sands will win Fraser Valleys next year, with either P.A. or Southridge going for 2nd.

Hopefully, we can see a 3rd berth again next year in the FV.

Anyway, best of luck to Hope and Pacific Academy in Kamloops!!

At 12:57 PM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

how did number 5 on Southridge get an allstar? I don't know about the other games, but when he played us, he shot like 20 3pointers and hit like 2 of them.
And then when i watched them play against Sands he did the same type of thing.
Is their something that other people see in this guy that i don't or do you guys agree with me?
who chooses the allstars?

At 1:13 PM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I agree, tho he did make some big shots in the first round to help mount the comeback but he definitly was not allstar material form there on out

At 1:32 PM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I dont thnk southridge will be good next year they only have one player there point gaurd other then that nothing one man cant do it all alone, itll be Sands and PA next year, Other than 1 who else does southridge have that makes them think they can compete next year

At 1:33 PM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Both those teams are bad. They are both weak defensively relying on zones the entire game with no pressure. #10 and 14 on Hope were a bunch of bums. That was the biggest game of their season and both played awful

At 1:42 PM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

don't know what game u were watching but 10 took down a ton of rebounds and played very solid. 14 couldn't seem to get the ball to drop but they were always there. very solid player hum bum you say were you an all star believe 14 from hope was guess that makes my point someone knows basketball... my question would be why on earth did the coaches have him on the bench for the last 10 mins of the most crucial game of the season where was there heads at.... unless he was injured makes no sense and probably cost the game... p.s. i stuck around to watch as cheering for hope to win pacific played unbelievable in last half couldn't miss a shot good for them heck of a game. but the fans from pacific need to give their heads a shake they were vulgar and rude oops sorry not all but a fairly significant group come on fans go out to cheer not that kind of behaviour good luck hope and pac in provincials you both deserve to be playing on

At 1:55 PM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

its funny how there are mood swings on this forum like roid boy on hope.
first everyone hates on hope, then everyone hates on PA ( think its mostly sands people). Williams was shut down, probubly maybe had 10-15 points, number 8 was there guy last night, i thought he was a pretty crappy player before, but after last night i think i was wrong, if he could just leant how to dribble, he would be so much better

Next year it will totally be Sands and PA. Sands probubbly win, but PA will be going for its third stairt championships, could make it close.

At 2:02 PM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

any more info on that grade 10 from sands?
if he is anything like #23 then sands will DOMINATE
and i also heard there are 2 bigs that are 6'7 and 6'4 who couldnt play due to injury?
if thats true, i wish PAC goodluck

At 2:03 PM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

i really wish that sands would hav had its cindrealla stroy..for like ***** its upsetting, they never got a chance to play PA i believe 3 teams hould still go to the provicnals from the fraserS?
is there any chance of that?
next year or even thi year at te seeding meeting?
its really dumb with just 2 as the thrid team has the same record as the second and even if they beat htem once it should be a second chance atelaset, due to similar records,
D.W poppy fans, are great, or players at the game too funny, i hate p.a lol im sorry ij us hate them with a strong passion and cant wait to kill them next year

At 2:05 PM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

i give alot of respect to ray douglas
i didnt like him much when i first saw him
but as i watched him, he is a good player
learn how to dribble though man
good luck PAC and HOPE going to provincals

At 2:28 PM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

PA hit their shots because Hope's defense was so bad leaving shooters open. Hope is garbage, they have no offensive set and they just dribble around and all panic when Eric gets triple teamed.
#14 was terrible, out of shape and couldnt score at all. I dont care what he did in the other games, I saw the final and say he sucks

At 4:40 PM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

kyle from hope has had lots of health issues since last year, he looks like he's been havin trouble gettin back into game shape. Last year he left the final game in an amblunace, i think it was some sort of heart thing. i saw him play over the last few years and he is a good player he just couldn't get anything to drop yesterday, but luckily for him #8 took his place pretty well .

At 5:11 PM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

hope was a good team Haney and poppy never gave up and as much as i enjoyed beating southridge they are prob the best coached team n i enjoy playing them the most...good luck to the guys headed to provincials i wish we could be going to but thats jus how shit goes sumtimes

great season

Xavier Johnson #11 sands

At 7:35 PM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

im from southridge and i just feel really bad how everything offencivly fell apart for us, heading into the pa tie breaker game we were clicking on all cylenders #5 was nailing his threes, #1 was getting assist after assist and 11 was dominating down low, come playoffs 5 couldnt make a shot 11 couldnt catch a ball and 1 couldnt make his bread and butter shot it just seems like our season peaked at the wrong time and sands peaked at the right time.

At 8:49 PM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

yes sands peaked at the right time, there a great team, southridge, did fall apart, but the differnece between southridge and sands is sands is such an atheltic team its amazing, i think its due to the great football program they have at their school, thrid in british columbia i believe is what they ranked.
Goodluck to provicnal teams this year, but for next year, i hope it is very competive like this year, but i believe
sands will dominate the frasers, playning agaisnt them and watching them should, alot of people that earlier in the season they were just not playing there game, as a whole unit, it was more of an indiviual show for them , and that cant always win games in basketball

i believe the winning team (pac) will hold the frasers next year if im to be corrected? my prediction will be sands and pac in the finals, with a sands victory, might be a close game, as i dont really know what p.a. will bring to the table, personal wise, were sands will have 3.5 of there starters, as one of there starters became a 6th man half way through the season. Who is that tall blonde kid? hes a beast, and i've heard they have 6'7 250 center or something like that who didn't play this year due to football injuries,

Number 8 for d.w poppy was he grade 12? or how bout that team they seemed like a good team

At 9:26 PM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

i'm going to have to agree with what that other guy said up there

Sands i believe will completely dominate, however I believe that it will be another dogfight going up between P.A. and Southridge.

P.A. really only has one main player coming back and that's #33, Tyler Plett. But they have other role players that will probably step up next year.

Southridge has 2 starters coming back, #1, Randip Singh, and some other white guy who does a pretty decent job. Plus, Southridge has an excellent coach.

Their has been a huge rivalry between Southridge and P.A. and you can most probably expect it to be the same way next year.

At 9:48 PM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

holy cross will be decent next year.

At 10:24 PM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

yea i believe they will aswelll
probally make frasers, as wildcard
as ther divsion will be
1. sands
2. p.a
3.holly/southridge(if southridge can have #1 be a one man show and get htem there)

At 10:56 PM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I don't think #1 is gonna have to pull off a one man show. I watched 1 of his games in the championships and they played one against us too. He must have had at least 10 assists in each game and a lot of those passes were to guys standing right under the hoop for open layups. he does a good job drawing defenders to him and then dishing it off to the open man under the hoop. If they have some decent posts next year that can finish the open layups and even a couple of spot up shooters, they will be fighting for second with P.A.

At 11:01 PM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

that is true, p.a it would be sweet for them to complete a hatty with the frasers but it wont happen unless they some how grow like 10 inches to match sands along with get alot faster, quicker, and i dunno the rest of the works, #33 of p.a is g.11 i believe, hes an excllent player, and p.a still has a great coach and some good players
a provicnal team next year hopefulyl along with sands

At 11:04 PM, February 19, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said...

#1 on Southridge didnt do jack vs Sands in the 3rd/4th place game. I only saw the second half before the finals, but im prety sure Sands was playin man up on him, and he got shut down by #4 i think it was. Their point guard hops around and leans in too, he needs to get some form to his driving

Created a new msg board at http://bchoopsboys.proboards75.com/index.cgi

I know Hooplife msg boards are still down. If you can all please go ahead and post in the forum above that would be great. This thread is getting a little bit ridiculous with 192 comments.

Thx

sands played a box-1 against southridge...its very difficult from experience to get going against a box-1 zone defence. the person guarding the one player has no other job other than stopping his marker; doesn't have to help or worry about anyone else on the court. way easier for the defender imo.

no kidding, number 5 shot so many 3's, i'm guessing he must usually make those cuz if he didn't his coach would've told him to stop, and their posts couldn't make their open layups. Even with the box-1 being played on him, number 1 was still creating everything, but nobody else stepped up to hit their open shots/layups
